Description
As a Jay Vo Media Dispatcher, you will be tasked with monitoring radio scanners, dispatching photographers, communicating with clients and the public, and uploading content to our portal.
Jay Vo Media provides newsgathering services and investigative reporting to the valley of the sun by working with public safety officials and local affiliates. At Jay Vo Media, we believe in creating a new era for journalism.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with photojournalists and managers in the field;
- Monitor police and public safety radios;
- Dispatch photojournalists to newsworthy incidents;
- Answer phone calls and emails from citizens, public information officers, clients, and newsrooms;
- Obtain information regarding an incident from sources;
- Write up, report and post on newsworthy incidents that photojournalists are working on;
- Develop a healthy, respectable, and trustworthy relationship with public information officers, patrol officers, firefighters, and other public safety officials.
Qualifications
- Type on the keyboard at least 30 words per minute;
- Understanding of police, fire, and emergency terminology;
- Able to multi-task efficiently;
- Complete in-house training within 16 weeks of hire;
Experience
- 1 or more years of customer service work;
- 6 or more months of monitoring Phoenix Metropolitan Area radio channels.
